About VC Day
Newark VC Day aims to enable greater access to Venture Capitalists and entrepreneurial peers. Whether you are a Founder, Entrepreneur or Venture Capitalist, VC Day is for folks in Newark’s ecosystem looking to network, deep dive into macro-industry topics through a local lens and learn about the different resources available for early-stage startups in New Jersey.
Join hosts Audible, Invest Newark, Newark Alliance and NVP Capital for discussions, panels, fireside chats and speed-networking with industry leaders from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), Prudential, NJ Fast, Tribaja and slate of VCs from venture capital firms who are invested in Newark’s growing ecosystem.

1-1:45PM: Resources for Early Stage Startups by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA)
Join NJEDA CEO Tim Sullivan, Manager of Venture Fund Programs, Alexander Pachman and more as they discuss New Jersey state’s support of the innovation ecosystem and detail their NJ Innovation Evergreen Fund and their Strategic Innovation Centers.
2-3PM: The State of Investing Panel by Zeal Capital Partners, Newark Venture Partners (NVP) Capital, Black Operator Ventures and SoundBoard Venture Fund
Join moderator Jerrod Hill, BBFI Venture Scout at Zeal Capital Partners alongside panelists Antonia Dean, Principal at Black Operator Ventures, Chika Ogele, Associate at NVP Capital and Jonathan Hakakian, Managing Partner at SoundBoard Venture Fund as they share insights and tips on how to best navigate VC fundraising within our current climate.

5:30-7PM: HAX Newark One-Year Anniversary Celebration @ HAX
One year ago, SOSV’s hard tech startup development program HAX opened the doors to its 35,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Newark, NJ—complete with chemistry, mechanical, and electrical engineering labs, a full machine shop, and advanced 3D printing capabilities. SOSV will celebrate one year of building Newark’s tech ecosystem with an evening of local artists and performances, live 3D printing demonstrations, and a showcase of beloved Newark-based brands and vendors.
