election day climate idea jam & coworking
"Such a refreshing change from a typical networking event"
Make friends and do work in a joyful community space! Plus, it's Election Day, so it'll be extra-nice to have some friends to bite your nails with. You can pretend to work while you refresh fivethirtyeight; we won't judge ;)
Soapbox Project is back at it — we're a third place for climate solutions, and we want to connect, learn, and take action with you.
Plant-based lunch will be provided by Ojaswe and the idea jam will be faciliated by Seattle Climate Designers' lead Linsey Nancarrow!
The space is generously provided by Hudson Pacific Properties. Like all of Hudson Pacific’s portfolio, King Street Crossing is 100% carbon neutral across operations. Yay!
Everything you need to know
Here's what to expect for our November community building & coworking hours. Mainly, we will include some fun facilitation, so you will actually get to know people! (Instead of, you know, walking into the event, not knowing whom to talk to, and pretending you need to be on your phone)
Who: climate professionals or climate-curious citizens who are looking for a place to make friends with others struggling with climate anxiety and/or pursuing climate work
What: 1 hour of facilitated non-icky networking followed by 3 hours of lunch / open work time that's loosely structured around goals (e.g. one table for finding a job, one for silent accountability, one for grants, etc.)
Where: Pioneer Square! Hudson Properties at 505 1st Ave S. The entrance towards the water has bike parking and we'll be hanging out in the lobby.
When: Every other Tuesday in November from 10AM to 2pm; schedule is below
Why: Climate anxiety and loneliness suck (especially if you work remote) and meeting other climate friends = big brain climate solutions
Bring: Stuff you need to get your work done (laptop, charger, notebook, pen, etc.) and we will have snacks/lunch
As our friend Spencer said, "This was networking in a way that felt authentic and kind and helpful. It was effective — people happily coming together to support one another" so please arrive on time (by 10:15) if you want a dose of the magic!
Agenda

Important notes

Although there aren't closed rooms you can take meetings in, it's a huge space so you can definitely find your own corner for meetings
