learn how you can create lasting change for housing, land use, & climate justice (ft. Futurewise's Director of Advocacy)
Make friends who care about stuff at Soapbox Seattle, the city's most fun community space for climate action!
Every single Tuesday evening from 6-9 PM, our vibrarians at Soapbox Project help you make new friends, invite awesome educators from frontline communities, and facilitate action so YOU can be part of the solution.
Each month, we pick a different theme and break it down into CONNECT-LEARN-ACT-REFLECT modules (one for each Tuesday of the month).
On Feb 11th, we'll LEARN about the topic of housing x climate justice through a Q&A with Jazmine Smith from Futurewise about housing and land use in Washington State.
Activities will start at 6:25ish so do your best to arrive before then! Here's a Q&A pic from Jan just for fun.
6-6:25 | arrive, put your stuff down, grab a lil drink, and relaaaxx with some casual chit chat or introvert time—whatever brings you joy!
6:25-7:00 | gather with your new friends and eat plant-based dinner served by Chef D (Dustin Ronspies, owner of Art of the Table)
7:00-8 | Q&A with Jazmine Smith about how the climate crisis influences housing injustice, how that intersects with land use policies (and soooo many other things), and how we can take action
8-9 | We love ending each night with free time for you to swap contact info, free-flowing discussion, and opportunities for you to talk to folks you didn't get to say hi to earlier in the night. Talk to Jazmine, make your plans for housing advocacy, and remember to sign up for next Tuesday!
You’ll leave with new friends, new information, and the knowledge that just by showing up, you’ve made a huge difference towards a healthy planet 💚
Here's the plan for February
Plant-based dinner is included each time, so please sign up as early as you can!
