Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) Tour
The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Central Indiana (CI) Affinity Group (AG) is thrilled to present an exclusive opportunity for IEEE CI members to tour the Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA) facility in Lafayette, Indiana. SIA, a proud member of the Subaru family, serves as the North American production hub for popular models such as the Ascent, Crosstrek, Legacy, and Outback. With a workforce of over 6,500 associates dedicated to quality, safety, and environmental responsibility, SIA represents excellence in modern automotive manufacturing.
We are delighted to invite you to this unique plant tour, where you can witness award-winning automotive assembly in action! This guided tour offers an up-close look at SIA’s state-of-the-art facility and provides an opportunity to observe Subaru vehicle production from start to finish.
Event Details:
· Date: Friday, May 9, 2025
· Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
· 9:30 AM – Networking session with light breakfast
· 11:00 AM – Guided plant tour (1.5 hours)
· Location: Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc., Lafayette, Indiana
· Cost: Free for all IEEE members (registration required; first come, first served), however, the individual transportation to the SIA plant is is not supported.
· Special Notes: The tour is on an elevated catwalk, where we will be walking a fast-walking pace, up and down 250 individual stair steps, and walking around 3,500 steps total. There are no restrooms, sitting or break areas on the tour route. Please be aware of this physical environment before you signing up the tour.

This event is a collaborative effort with the IEEE Central Indiana Section and IEEE Region 4 WIE. By hosting this tour, we aim to showcase the achievements of women engineers and scientists, inspire future generations, and promote diversity within the engineering and science fields
Footwear & Clothing Requirements for SIA Tour – Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are required to be worn. Skirts, dresses, crocs, and sandals are not permitted to be worn. Shorts are permitted. There are no cell phones or camera/recording devices allowed inside the plant. Items may not be carried on the tour i.e., bags, purses, water bottles, coffee cups, etc. There are lockers in the Lobby for those items to be stored in until the tour is over.
