Soapbox goes to the Burien Solar Punk Festival
Back in January, as part of our Climate Futurism theme, we learned about this annual Solar Punk Festival in Burien. It sounded so cool that a bunch of us committed to going on our Better World Bingo cards. “Solar Punk” envisions a future where community and technology are integrated to create a self-sustaining system. The Burien Solar Punk Festival is a Key Tech Labs event that aims to bring together technology, art, culture, and community in one place to teach us about the future. Let's get outside and learn about alternative self-sustaining ways to work and power our daily lives. We'll probably get car pools together to get there, so sign up ahead of time so we can coordinate.
Soapbox Project is a third place, hosting events every Tuesday for climate solutions and community building. But we also want to get together and do things outside of Tuesdays.
