ABOUT PANELISTS
Ivana Bajic
Los Angeles-based multimedia producer specialized in developing projects that merge art and technology. Her work ranges from artificial intelligence startups to eminent artists, including Marina Abramovic and Jeff Koons. Her clients include the British Society of Cinematographers and Warner Bros. Studios. Author and producer of the interactive book Nature of Surf Women. She is currently working on a documentary film about Surf Therapy.
Carla Zamora
Carla is a dedicated longboard surfer and the founder of Queen Of The Point (QOTP), a competition series designed to elevate women in the male-dominated sport of surfing. She has a deep connection with Malibu Surfrider Beach, where she has navigated personal and societal challenges to create a prominent platform for female surfers. Carla is also the founder of The Surf Institute, where she coaches the next generation of surfers, sharing her expertise and love for the sport.
Ashley Lloyd
Ashley is a renowned surfboard shaper and former professional longboarder based in Santa Cruz. She began her shaping career by repairing and modifying damaged boards in her youth, eventually establishing her own eco-friendly surfboard brand, Ashley Lloyd Surfboards, in 2008. Lloyd is dedicated to environmental sustainability, using materials like bio-based epoxy resins and recycled EPS foam to create high-performance, eco-conscious surfboards. Ashley recently started a new brand, Unfurling, which offers multi-functional wraps and accessories designed to be the perfect pairing for your adventure.

Katie McDonald
Katie McDonald is a cinematographer and photographer specializing in surf and outdoor lifestyle storytelling. After graduating with a degree in Film and Media Studies from Lafayette College, she has traveled the world working with brands like Roxy, Roark, Abysse, and others as a Warm Collective/Warm Agency talent. Katie now lives in Costa Mesa and enjoys surfing, running, biking, and other outdoor activities.

Avery Schuyler Nunn
Avery is a storyteller stoked on science. Her love for the planet and its creatures was fostered throughout her childhood on the East Coast, and from the mountains to the forests to the waves, has inspired every facet of her work and life since. Avery earned her Master of Science degree in Journalism from Columbia University, where she specialized in investigative environmental reporting and the climate-driven redistribution of marine species. In the years since, she has contributed words and/or photographs to National Geographic, Scientific American, Smithsonian Magazine, Popular Science Magazine, Atmos, Grist, The Surfrider Foundation, and more.
Eugenia Ermacora
Eugenia Ermacora is the Manager of the Los Angeles Chapter for Surfrider. Starting as a volunteer in 2018, her deep love for the ocean and environmental conservation led her to spearhead initiatives like the Ocean Friendly Restaurants program. After three years, she became Chair, focusing on policy advocacy, volunteer retention, and fundraising. Outside her work, Eugenia enjoys surfing, breathwork, adventures, embodying environmental stewardship, and living harmoniously with nature.
Haley Jain Haggerstone
Haley is the Partnership Director for Sustainable Surf / SeaTrees. She spent several years in the surf, skate, and snowboard industry before pursuing her passion for protecting the planet. She has extensive experience working with environmental nonprofits focused on eliminating plastic pollution, enhancing ocean conservation efforts, and reversing climate change. Haley will share Sustainable Surf’s mission to regenerate the health of our ocean planet and the SeaTrees program, which plants, protects, and restores blue carbon coastal ecosystems around the world to reverse climate change.
