​Join us for this very special meet-up co-hosted together with our friends Raiani Sibien (founder of StutteringSociety.com) and Stephen Greene (@the_stutterverse) together with Uri Schneider!

​

​This meet-up is free of charge, open to people who stutter, parents and professionals interested in being part of the conversation. This is also an opportunity to catch up, get to know each other, make new connections and cultivate a world of friendship, support snd encouragement.

​🎤 Facilitators

​Stephen Greene grew in Dublin and now lives in Waterford. He works at Brothers of Charity Services Ireland South East Region. When I was younger, I was interested in playing keyboards and boxing. I've completed several half marathons, I've taught classes of up to 46 kids English as a foreign language, I've recorded an album with my band. I've completed a B.A degree in Social Care; I've been the chairperson of the Irish Stammering Association and to this day, I facilitate a local stuttering support group. Nowadays, I enjoy weightlifting, stuttering support, playing keyboards in a band and travel. Growing-up, it was hard not being able to say what I wanted to say when I wanted to say it. The most helpful thing for me is realizing how much it made me a good listener and empathetic to others. If I could offer some advice to my younger self, I would say;
"The more you will try to hide and mask your stuttering the more you will struggle physically and emotionally how you feel about yourself."

​Raiani Sibien is the founder and director of Stuttering Society. She herself grew up with a speech block and she wanted to create a platform that could help others dealing with communication disorders while raising awareness about the topic and increasing the visibility of stuttering in public life. Raiani graduated with a Bachelor (with Honours) in journalism from a British university before undertaking a Master’s degree in security and diplomacy. She has since worked for a number of prestigious international organisations such as the United Nations (UN) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Since leaving her hometown in Brazil in 2006, Raiani had the opportunity to study and work in several countries, including England, Italy, Israel, Switzerland, Belgium, and the United States.

​Uri Schneider, M.A. CCC-SLP the co-director at Schneider Speech (private practice schneiderspeech.com); creator, leader and podcast host at Transcending Stuttering (transcendingx.com); and faculty at the University of California at Riverside School of Medicine. Uri is recognized for passion and impact as a clinician, educator, researcher and innovator. He is proud husband and father (of four), borderline dyslexic, bonafide ADD-creative and a nature-loving runner.
