Melbourne | AI Builder Co-working x S&C
Ready for Melbourne's only FULL-DAY AI co-working running out of Stone & Chalk?
The day starts at 9AM, and wraps up at 5PM. You can come in and out at any time that you like, but to get the most out of the event it's recommend attending for the whole day if time-permits (and particularly making it for the learning session and demos in the middle of the day!!).
Aside from standard coworking, your host will run a few (completely opt-in) events:
📍 9:15-9:30: Quick intros and asks
Opportunity to introduce yourself and meet the other people coworking on the day, and ask for help or advice on anything you might be working on.📍 11:00-11:30: Coffee & Learn: TBD
Every month, we have a community member deliver an educational workshop on something AI related alongside some tasty coffee brewed by host Xavier Andueza.
This month we have Debashish C running a workshop on GPU Fundamentals for AI Engineers.
While GPUs power modern AI development, many engineers interact with them only through high-level frameworks. This 20(ish)-minute talk provides AI practitioners with essential knowledge of GPU architecture and programming, bridging the gap between theory and practice. We'll explore GPU fundamentals, CUDA programming concepts, and how deep learning frameworks leverage these capabilities. You'll gain practical insights for optimizing AI workloads and debugging common GPU issues. The session includes code examples, best practices, and a curated set of resources for continued learning in GPU programming. Whether you're optimizing model training or scaling to multiple GPUs, this introduction will help you make informed decisions in your AI development workflow.
Key Topics:
- GPU architecture and CUDA programming fundamentals
- GPU acceleration in deep learning frameworks
- Performance optimization strategies
- Learning resources and next steps📍 12:30-1:30: Group Lunch Break
BYO lunch or some great take out options nearby.📍 1:30-2:30: Demos
Here's the time of the day that we will show off what we're all individually working on. It can be anything from a new product feature, to a jupyter notebook testing out an idea, to a new marketing initiative you're getting off the ground. Anyone in attendance is welcome to demo! After 5PM: Knock off drinks
Outside of these times, feel free to hack away as you please :)
Huge thank you to Scott Bennett for hosting this session for me this month. If you're interested in helping out with Build Club, definitely reach out to Xavier!
This event is run by Xavier Andueza the 2024 Melbourne Co-city lead of Build Club.
Build Club is founded by Annie Liao and a closed membership community of Australia's most ambitious AI builders who are passionate about launching their dreams into reality.
