About Event

Make friends who care about stuff at Soapbox Seattle, the city's most fun community space for climate action!

Every single Tuesday evening from 6-9 PM, our vibrarians at Soapbox Project help you make new friends, invite awesome educators from frontline communities, and facilitate action so YOU can be part of the solution.

Each month, we pick a different theme and break it down into CONNECT-LEARN-ACT-REFLECT modules (one for each Tuesday of the month).

On Feb 25th, we'll REFLECT on the topic of housing x climate justice through a guided art activity (no you don't need to Be An Artist) and healing circle

Activities will start at 6:25ish so do your best to arrive before then!

  • 6-6:25 | arrive, put your stuff down, grab a lil drink, and relaaaxx with some casual chit chat or introvert time—whatever brings you joy!

  • 6:25-7:00 | gather with your new friends and eat plant-based dinner served by Chef D (Dustin Ronspies, owner of Art of the Table)

  • 7:00-9 | "colors of home" art activity led by Anne Livingston & reflective healing circle led by therapist Dana Daugherty. You get to choose your level of engagement and vulnerability based on how you're feeling going into the night, so don't worry about being trapped into something too intense ;)

You’ll leave with new friends, new information, and the knowledge that just by showing up, you’ve made a huge difference towards a healthy planet 💚

Here's the plan for February

Plant-based dinner is included each time, so please sign up as early as you can!

  • 2/4 CONNECT: live music featuring connection prompts for us to understand what each of us is curious about/working on/worried for etc.

  • 2/11 LEARN: Q&A with Jazmine Smith, Director of Local Advocacy at Futurewise

  • 2/18 ACT: brief grounding educational session followed by the opportunity to rotate through bite-sized action, letter-writing to city council, & guided advocacy stations

  • 2/25 REFLECT: "colors of home" art activity led by Anne Livingston & climate displacement icky-feelings-navigating circle led by therapist Dana Daugherty

This space is hosted by Soapbox Project, a nonprofit that creates joyful community structures to heal our climate anxiety and loneliness through expertly facilitated connection, learning, and action activities. Find your place in the climate movement with our online and in-person community!
