BREAKING THE BIAS BY BUILDING SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIES WITH THE WOMAN AT THE CENTER

Sustainability became the catchword around which all conversations were centered when Covid-19 and its impact first hit the world.  In a bid to recover from Covid-19’s devastating impact United Nations Women(UN) recommended that every Covid-19 response plan and recovery package must include women and women’s organization at the heart of the response as well as to design socio-economic development plans with an intentional focus on the future of women.

That is when we begin to question how sustainable everything (family systems, businesses, educational systems) we have built is. The Sustainable Development Goal 5.5 talks about ensuring the full participation of women in leadership and decision-making.

This means that to build sustainable economies, we need women to be at the decision-making table. Structural and cultural barriers continue to inhibit women’s participation in higher-wage sectors and occupations, and gender wage gaps persist everywhere in the world. But we cannot continue like this.

The question then becomes how can we equip these women to ensure their full participation of women in decision-making and grow into leadership positions to ensure sustainability.

1.      Inspiring Confidence: Many women lack the confidence to even ask for a salary raise or to speak up during meetings. When women are confident, they know they are worth and capable of more. Confident women are able to influence policies that will enhance the lives of many women all over the world.

2.      Connecting Women to their Community: A community of like-minded people who want to see each other win is a powerful one and very rare to find. Nations of Women is one of those rare gems where you have a safe space and you find yourself in a TRIBE where we spur each other on to be the best version of ourselves.

Women have experienced days where with all their immense strength and potential, they were confined to the four walls of their homes. A considerable amount of time has been taken to change from these social and cultural barriers that limit women to now be ushered into an era where women are allowed to work to reduce the disparity between men and women.

Stimulating entrepreneurship among women, especially women in lower socio-economic strata is an effective tool to alleviate poverty, reduce gender bias and empower women financially. Women entrepreneurs are considered to be the most important economic agent for the economic expansion of any country. This is because where there is the development of women, the family develops, society develops, and the country develops.

Empowerment of women through entrepreneurship involves factors like access to resources, active economic participation, and the right to own property. Entrepreneurship in itself is not an easy feat, it comes with its own risks, challenges, and possible failures. However, if women are well equipped with strategies on how to take risks or face challenges as an entrepreneur then these strategies coupled with their power of resilience, consistency, and perseverance, a woman will stand strong as an entrepreneur.

Apostle Linda Gobodo founded the His Church Kingdom Ministries in 1997 in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa and pastored the church for 10 years. While pastoring the Church, she received a burden for Africa and founded the 

) leads a campaign calling Africans in Africa and the Diaspora to arise and take responsibility to rebuild their continent. The key is to receive the message and for everyone to bring their gifts, skills, capabilities, networks and experience to rebuild and restore the land of their forefathers.

Apostle Veronica Mwela who carries an Apostolic  Prophetic mantle leads the Intercessors International Zimbabwe, a Global House of Prayer. She also leads Global Prayer Conferences. She is a Matriarch,  affectionately known as Mama Mwela and has been raising prayer warriors for decades. “Pray without ceasing and pray the Word” are the words that always come out of Mama Mwela. 

Stacey Campbell has been doing prophetic ministry for over 35 years. She is the founder of the Canadian Prophetic Council and has helped launch prophetic roundtables in several nations. She

serves as an honorary member of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders, presided over by Dr.

Cindy Jacobs.  She has recently founded Shiloh Global, a ministry to empower leaders in all spheres of society in order to see true transformation. She and her husband, Wesley, founded a mercy organization for children at risk called “Be A Hero International.” In addition, they are the authors of five books and the Praying the Bible CD series. 

Arleen is the co-Lead Pastor, together with her husband Dick, of the God's Embassy Church in Amsterdam. Her passion is to equip and raise up believers, through the prophetic, to bring God's solutions to bear on some of the world's toughest problems. This led her to start the Economic Summit in 2014 in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis.

Barrack was meant to go to war, however that didnt happen until Deborah arose and collaborated with him to go to war. The word of the Lord was relased and in the time when Deborah arose, Jael was propelled into her position to bring to a fullness, the fulfilment of that which had been spoken. She brought freedom to an entire nation and people group. 

What promises are you waiting to see come forth? What have you been waiting on the Lord for? Many have tarried for so long and are now weary, however the Lord says dont be! He is bringing us his instructions for such a time as this!

"And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45 ESV.
