About Event

What You’ll Learn

Iterative is hosting an online event to help founders figure out how to validate their startup ideas in less than 2 weeks without having to code. Join Hsu Ken, Managing Partner at Iterative, as he gives founders ideas on how they can do so during this live event. We believe that most ideas can be validated without the need to code, and often believe it's much better to do it this way.

You’ll get an understanding of

  • How to use various techniques (like a fake door, selling vaporware, customer interviews etc.) to validate demand for your product without writing code

  • How to breakdown what the riskiest assumptions in your startup are and prioritise the order in which to test them

  • How to validate various types of ideas (Marketplaces, B2B, B2C, hardware etc. )

Format

The format is simple. Sign-up as either a participant or an observer. Participants will be called on to pitch their idea and Hsu Ken will tell them how they validate their idea without code in the next 2 weeks. Observers can simply tune in and watch. But we think there's a lot more value if you participate! :-) The last time we did this we had 90 people sign-up!

Speaker

Hsu Ken was previously the Chief Product Officer of Workmate, an on-demand blue collar staffing platform in Southeast Asia. In 2014, he was VP of Product at Weave (YCS14). In 2009, he started Decide.com an early machine learning company that predicted the future price of consumer goods. It was acquired by eBay in 2013.

About Iterative

Since Iterative started in March 2020, we have raised $65M across two funds, invested in 80+ companies, 160+ founders and the total value of Iterative companies is now worth $1.2 billion.

Iterative’s $55M Fund II was led by Cendana, K5 Global, Village Global, Goodwater Capital with participation from a large network of Silicon Valley founders and execs including Arash Ferdowsi (Dropbox), Achmad Zaky, (Bukalapak), Andrew Chen (General partner a16z, Uber), Qasar Younis (Former COO YC, Applied Intuition), David Shim (Foursquare), Kum Hong Siew (Head of Airbnb Asia), Moses Lo (Founder, Xendit), and many more. It’s worthwhile noting that half of the $55M Fund II is dedicated to making follow-on investments in portfolio companies.

Iterative's mission is to increase the GDP of Southeast Asia through entrepreneurship. To do that, we need to (1) make entrepreneurship more accessible to more people and (2) give founders the tools and support to be successful. As part of this mission, we want to show how it's possible for anyone to validate a startup idea quickly, without needing to code.
