On behalf of IVADO, the Quebec Government Office in Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Canada in San Francisco, are pleased to invite you to meet our world-renowned AI researcher, Yoshua Bengio, for a Fireside Chat on AI Safety, with Geoffrey Irving, Chief Scientist at the UK AI Security Institute (AISI).

6:45 PM – Fireside Chat: AI Safety

  • Featured Speakers: Yoshua Bengio (IVADO, Université de Montréal, Mila)

  • Interviewer: Jack Clark, Co-Founder of Anthropic (to be confirmed)

  • Discussion Themes: the seriousness (or not) of catastrophic risks with anticipated advances in AI if these advances continue, including both malicious use and loss of human control.
