Presented by ArtHouseTO, Rei Murakami and Jazzmin Aivaliotis

Rei:
Rei moved to Canada in 2010-2012. When Rei moved to Canada, he did not speak any English and did not know anyone in Toronto. As soon as Rei moved to Canada, Rei connected with a drug because he did not have any social connection with anything in Toronto. Shortly after, Rei moved out from Canada and backpacked around South America and Asia. Rei came back to Toronto 2016 to study a Social Service Program at George Brown College. Rei has been working as a harm reduction worker since his graduation. Rei has provided overdose prevention and Naloxone training to over 1000 students.

Jazzmin:
Hi, I’m Jazzmin Aivaliotis [she/they]! I am a youth worker and poet with mental health disabilities who enjoys reading tarot and cooking with my roommates. I have studied child and youth care, as well as psychology and critical equity studies. I met Rei when he was a regular at the coffee shop I used to work at, and we became quick friends, connecting over our shared experiences working in mental health and community spaces.
