What is HackOS 3?
A student-run hackathon to create models, aiming to beat various benchmarks for open access research topics, co-hosted between the University of Waterloo and McGill University! Feel free to join the HackOS Discord for more information.
Who can join?
This hackathon is geared towards students, researchers, and recent grads. We welcome participants of all skill levels, whether you're writing code for the first time or a seasoned developer. If you are a public member, please send us a message, we'll do our best to accommodate!
What is happening?
This HackOS, we'll be playing around with the recently open-sourced DeepSeek-R1 model, while trying to retain its performance on various benchmarks. You can build solo, as a team, or even use pre-existing work for this hackathon!
We'll also be writing a collaborative paper on any exciting findings we make, that we may submit to the arXiv, and to the ICLR Workshop on Foundation Models.
