Meet the Mars Materials CTO - Carbon-Negative Acrylonitrile for Carbon Fiber
Seattle people! Do you have an interest in carbon fiber? Do you get excited when you hear about defossilizing drinking water purification? If so, let me know! One of my favorite companies - Mars Materials - will be in town at the end of the month (8/25-26) to meet with carbon fiber manufacturing companies, and they're excited to meet community members while they're in town. Here's a bit more on them: Mars Materials is building the next-generation of green materials, starting with the production of acrylonitrile, a $14BN molecule used in premium materials such as carbon fiber. Their nitrilation process produces carbon-negative acrylonitrile via water, captured-CO2, low-carbon NH3 and renewable electricity. They are based in Houston, TX but will be visiting the Climate Hub on August 25th while in town, meeting with partners in the carbon fiber value chain. If you’d like to meet 1:1 on the 25th, please reach out to kristian@marsmaterials.tech to coordinate.
