Join us for a weekend of hacking in support of national security, sponsored by Shield Capital, Vannevar Labs, In-Q-Tel, Founders Fund, and Anduril. This event is hosted by Stanford's Defense Tech Club, Stanford Gordian Knot Center, and Cerebral Valley, with a kick off event on May 3 on Stanford campus. Don't miss the opportunity to connect with problem statement stakeholders and special guest speakers. The official hackathon will begin on May 4 at Shack15 in San Francisco.


Schedule:

Friday, May 3rd: Cocktails, kickoff, problem set briefings, and team building at Stanford's campus, hosted by Stanford's Defense Tech Club and Stanford Gordian Knot Center.

Saturday, May 4th: 24 hours of hacking on government-provided problem sets begins in San Francisco. Featuring speakers from commercial technology companies and government stakeholders.

Sunday, May 5th: Judging and prizes awarded.


Hack on problems that matter – problem statements curated by US military stakeholders. Judges and mentors are from US military, startups, and venture capital firms. Full list of problem sets, judges, and mentors will be provided after registration.

- L1 Basic Automation: Provide detailed travel itineraries with just a destination.
- L2 Interactive Assistance: Manage complex schedules across multiple calendars.
- L3 Analytical Processing: Analyze complex data sets to provide actionable business insights.
- L4 Advanced Programming: Send PRs to open-source GitHub issues, and surpass Devin on the SWE-bench.
- L5 Self-Improvement: Learn from human feedback and self-improve by rewriting its own code.

Join us on May 4th to innovate and build your own assistant with OpenAI's Assistants API v2. This latest version introduces the dynamic file search tool, capable of ingesting up to 10,000 files and efficiently navigating through them to supercharge your assistant's functionality.

In 1968 Douglas Engelbart showed the "mother of all computer demos". It was a device that let you use a computer without just typing into a terminal: the mouse.

Innovations like the mouse turned computers into what Steve Jobs called "A bicycle for the mind"

Now more than 50 years later, computers can think, speak, and listen as well as humans in many scenarios.

It is time to again ask ourselves: What does it mean to use a computer as a tool for the mind?

It may mean building the next Notion, or Roam research, or Obsidian, ground up using gen AI.

It may mean rekindling the aspirations of the Internet-Of-Things movement where any household appliance can be communicated with seamlessly.

Or it may mean creating "the next mouse"

This hackathon is a playground to think different.
