Space Meeting #0013: Building Hardware for Outer Space
What does it take to build hardware for life off world?
In this event you'll meet and learn from the engineers, entrepreneurs, and scientists doing exactly that.
Join us for an evening learning from organizations and companies that have successfully launched hardware into space.
At this event you will not only be able to see actual flown hardware but also talk to the creators about the challenges, pitfalls, and surprises involved in building for low or zero gravity environments.
Have hardware that's been to space that you'd like to get in front of potential collaborators, employees, or investors? Include information about it in your registration to be considered.
Agenda:
5:00 - Doors open, refreshments
6:00 - 5 minute talks on each piece of Featured Hardware
6:30 - Lightning Pitches for those looking for help getting their work into space
7:00 - Social time, refreshments
Featured hardware:
SpaceBilt: Data and power transfer mechanisms for on-orbit assembly
Stanford Student Space Initiative: College club dedicated to development and fabrication of student space projects.
Magnitude.io: ExoLab Plant research in µg
geCKo Materials:Bio-inspired dry adhesive that mimics the method geckos use to attach and detach from surfaces. Currently in use on the ISS.
Olfera Theraputics: Brain-on-chip system utilizing microgravity to accelerate aging research.
