Adopt-A-Battery at Fort Miley

​Come roll up your sleeves — get your hands dirty and help breathe new life into Battery Chester, fostering a space that thrives on community spirit and artistic expression while honoring its historical significance. Refuse Refuse aims to transform Battery Chester at Fort Miley from a neglected historical military structure into a vibrant community space. Join fellow volunteers and the National Park Services (NPS) and work to rejuvenate Battery Chester, creating a haven for community, family, and artists.

Public parking available at El Camino del Mar Parking Lot. From parking lot, take paved trail marked Picnic Area to the top.

​Volunteers will meet at Fort Miley (Battery Chester) to grab our supplies and form our crew. Then, cleaning, painting, and trail maintenance will occur from 10:00am to 12:00pm around Fort Miley.
