Innovative Applications of Computer Vision for Power Utility Infrastructure Inspection
In this presentation, we will delve into an innovative application of computer vision for power utility infrastructure inspection. We’ll begin with an overview of Buzz Solutions’ technology, emphasizing the use of computer vision for addressing critical challenges faced by power utility clients. We’ll highlight key challenges we’ve faced in using computer vision in this sector, including a lack of publicly available data and a lack of standards for data capture across utility clients. We’ll then explain how we overcome these challenges using innovative techniques such as generative AI. We will show the result of these techniques by showcasing Buzz Solutions’ PowerAI solution, a vision AI system for powerline inspections and PowerGUARD solution, a vision edge AI system for substation monitoring. Finally, we will share some of the key learnings and insights we’ve gained from applying computer vision in the power industry.
Our Speaker: Vikhyat Chaudhry is the founder of Buzz Solutions, which safeguards world's energy infrastructure by providing automation, fault/anomaly recognition, actionable insights and predictive analytics for grid and asset inspections.
regenAI: is a community of AI builders & shapers that fosters new ideas, new approaches to AI-related challenges, mutual learning and sharing and co-creating with other like-minded doers.
Access: Upon arrival, please press doorbell on left side of door ("3D Systems").
Transportation: Less than 3 blocks south of the Powell BART station, less than 2 blocks west of the Yerba Buena MUNI station, and about 6 blocks northwest of the 4th St CalTrain station. Loosely enforced 1 hour parking on Tehama, meters in the area free after 6p, uncovered parking .5 blocks on Tehama and 5th ($20), secured parking 1.5 blocks away at the 5th and Mission garage (but is pricey).
