What If Earth Joined a Cosmic Community? (Session 1: Asia / Africa / EU)
Calling Earthlings to an interactive online session on reimagining Earth’s role in a Cosmic Civilization
We may be closer than ever to discovering life beyond Earth—perhaps even civilizations more advanced than ours. What would it mean for Earthlings to take their place in a wider, cosmic community?
Join us for a 90-minute online session where we’ll use creative and participatory methods to imagine Earth’s future role in the universe. Through creative and participatory futures activities and group conversations, we'll explore:
* The values, ideas, and ways of living that Earthlings collectively might want to bring to the cosmic table.
* What other civilizations might expect from Earthlings. The ways in which we would want Earthlings to be seen, before the actions of a few decide it for us.
* What it would take for Earth to mature as a planetary—and cosmic—civilization. Not just in energy use or technology, but also in purpose, futures, relationships, and how we care for life and community.
* How we can step from degrading our home planet to earning a place--gracefully, wisely, and maybe even impressively--in an ecosystem bigger than Earth alone.
This is a space for imagination, reflection, and hopeful thinking. It’s serious stuff—but the session will be interactive, welcoming, and a little playful, too.
No background knowledge needed—just curiosity and an open mind.
