Unpacking Eco Grief: Regenerative Leaders Campfire
Leaders of regeneration are being tasked with remaining creative, hopeful, inspired and generative in the face of mounting climate-impact challenges. It’s a tall order, especially since many of us carry around unshared sorrow, despair, frustration, anger and guilt in our back pockets. This is the hidden world of “eco-grief.”
Many cultures place great value on self-reliance, positivity and keeping our emotional lives to ourselves. But what we are re-learning about grief is that it is a communal practice – and a healing superpower. Through regular sharing and listening to each other, our wholeness, resilience and creativity are restored.
The one-hour virtual “campfire” is a thoughtfully held and safe space where all are invited into the warmth of this practice. A short presentation will be followed by a facilitated interactive session. No preparation or experience is needed. Sharing is not required, but welcomed in small breakout groups where participants can share areas of personal grief and difficulty in these complex times, and hear how they are not alone.
