Known as “The man behind BBC iPlayer”, Anthony Rose is a seasoned entrepreneur and the driving force behind SeedLegals, the platform powering a third of all early-stage SEIS/EIS funding rounds in the UK.
With a background in internet video, P2P tech, and social platforms — plus a patent portfolio spanning content discovery and interactive TV — Anthony brings a rare mix of technical depth and commercial know-how to the startup world.

Jonny Clark
Angel Investor & CEO, Capital Enterprise
Jonathon ‘Jonny’ Clark is currently the CEO of Capital Enterprise, the UK’s leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping startups - and the places they exist within - to prosper. He is a distinguished angel investor (winning Seedlegals Angel Investor of the Year 2024) and founding member of the acclaimed Baltic Ventures accelerator.
He was previously Co-founder of GDPR compliance startup GDPR Defender and a prolific adviser and investor to early stage technology companies. He started and convenes the 500+ strong Startup Grind Liverpool community, and has held a number of roles across tech startups and economic development organisations. In 2023 he brought a taste of Slush to Liverpool by curating and hosting Liverpool Slush’D, the inaugural Slush’D event in the UK.
Katie Nicholson
Director, Gateway Angels
Katie joined Gateway Angels as Director, following four years as Founding Director of Petra Consulting during which time she worked with both start-up and established businesses in the private and public sectors.
Prior to launching Petra Consulting, Katie gained 10 years in a variety of marketing and operational roles at PDMS, Paddy Power and latterly KPMG, where she launched and managed the Bridge Angel Network in the Isle of Man.
Katie has an MBA from Liverpool John Moore’s University. She is a Director at Startup Grind, a member of the UKBAA Angel Group Advisory Board and the Liverpool City Region Female Founder Regional High-Growth Board.
