​Dr. de Magalhães is a scientist, futurist and entrepreneur. He leads a lab at the University of Birmingham focused on the Genomics of Ageing and Rejuvenation. His lab is a world-leader in employing genomics and bioinformatics to study gene networks of ageing and in sequencing and analyzing genomes from long-lived species.

​In addition, Dr. de Magalhães is CSO of YouthBio Therapeutics, a longevity biotech company, and founder of Magellan Science Ltd.

​

​He also talks about reversible organ cryopreservation, exobiology and nanotech, complemented by composing music and performing stand-up comedy in his free time.
