CPTC Flett Habitat Stewardship - PNW Climate Week
About Event: Join students and volunteers on Clover Park Technical College’s Flett Outdoor Lab for habitat stewardship activities on Saturday, July 19th! Activities at this habitat stewardship event may include removing invasive plant species (scotch broom, Himalayan blackberry), watering trees we’ve previously planted, and building community around conservation of Garry oak and wetland ecosystems. A tour of the Outdoor Lab will also be provided to those interested to talk about the importance of Garry oak and wetland ecosystems for climate change and carbon sequestration and how our habitat stewardship/restoration helps improve these important ecosystems. We will provide gloves and tools, but if you have gloves and/or tools of your own that you prefer using, please feel free to bring them. While the work area is on uneven ground and trails, we will try to accommodate an activity appropriate for volunteers of all ages and capabilities. Join us between 9:00am and 12:00 noon on July 19th!
