Entrepreneurs face unique challenges raising capital and building companies, challenges that can be compounded in Alaska, with its limited pool of investors and geographic separation. At the same time, however, Alaska has long “punched above its weight” when it comes to the creativity, commitment, and talent in its business and professional communities.
The Fourth Effect in the 49th is an Anchorage-based initiative sponsored by Andrea Canfield (Partner, Stoel Rives), Siena Caruso (GC, Chenega), Jennie Morawetz (Partner, Kirkland & Ellis), and Sarah Schirack (Counsel, Perkins Coie) that aims to use the power of The Fourth Effect—a SaaS platform connecting startups and growth-stage companies to women advisors, directors, and funders throughout the United States and globally—to build a thriving Alaska-based network of entrepreneurs and women board candidates/funders, in order to promote local business and professional advancement.
We invite all Alaska entrepreneurs and women board candidates/funders (aspiring is fine!) to join us for a moderated discussion with Alaskan business owners and women with successful for-profit board careers, followed by mingling. There will be an opportunity for those interested to learn more about The Fourth Effect and sign up for The Fourth Effect in the 49th, which has funding available to provide a limited number of free memberships to the platform.
