Evaluating digital products and services in the non-profit sector
Are you harnessing the full potential of your digital products or services? Join us for an interactive workshop that will help you measure and maximise your organisation's digital impact.
What is the session about?
Digital solutions are transforming the non-profit sector, offering new opportunities like:
Enhanced operational efficiency
Improved access to services
Potential for more outreach to marginalised communities
Greater overall impact
However, evaluating digital initiatives requires a unique approach. This session will equip you with the tools and knowledge to effectively assess your digital products and services.
What the session will cover?
We'll introduce the Catalyst Toolkit: ‘Evaluating digital products and services in the non-profit sector’. This comprehensive guide aims to be a starting point for consistent best practice for non-profits, evaluators and grant managers to refer to. It explores key considerations in relation to monitoring and evaluating digital products and services.
The session will also be an opportunity to share how your organisation approaches the evaluation of your digital products and services, and to contribute to shaping an updated version of the guide by including what you feel is missing and needed by the sector.
The session will be interactive as much as possible and will consist of two parts:
Part one: Demystifying digital evaluation
Overview of the toolkit and its practical applications
Key terms and concepts explained
Understanding the unique aspects of digital evaluation
Part two: Measuring what matters
Explore measurement strategies for:
Social value and user impact
Organisational learning and expertise development
Financial value and return on investment
Equality, diversity and inclusion
Sector-wide contributions and decolonisation efforts
Who the session is for?
The session is for digital leads working in not-for-profit organisations.
How long is the session?
The session will be 90 minutes long with additional time at the end if anyone wants to stay and chat.
Who is presenting?
The session will be led by Dr Graham Spacey, Senior Evaluation and Learning Consultant at inFocus, who is currently reviewing and updating the guide. The development of the guide was led by inFocus in collaboration with the Catalyst. inFocus supports organisations and networks around the world to better evaluate and sustainably grow the impact of their work. They specialise in developing monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems to support (and develop) strategy; and training to build the capacity of organisations to implement and manage impact measurement.
