Textile Mending & Embroidery
Join us for the first in an ongoing series of mending workshops focused on seeing your stained items in a new light and enhancing them with embroidered mends. No sewing experience required to attend!
A few of the techniques we’ll cover:
Simple embroidery techniques like running stitch, back stitch, and chain stitch.
How to "draw" fluidly with your thread.
Hand sewing basics for those without any prior experience.
Each workshop will follow a similar format, but introduce new stitches or ideas that you can use to repair your items.
Folks are encouraged to bring an item or two in need of repair. Rips and holes welcome (duh), but please make sure that any personal items you bring are laundered prior to class.
