KYDS Online Well-Being Program

What is it?

This program is a series of one-hour Zoom sessions, offered with a free daily journal and optional extra activities. The aim is to help young people develop the skills necessary to improve their mental health, relationships, motivation, and overall well-being.

How is it run?

Everything in this course is entirely voluntary. At no stage will you be required to do or say more than you are comfortable with. However, the more you put in, the more you will get out of it. There are five separate modules:

1.     Making stress your friend

2.     Building and maintaining motivation

3.     Developing a positive mindset

4.     Building better relationships

5.     Relaxation & better sleep

While it is much more effective to attend all of these, you are welcome to attend as many or as few as you like. Each session will run for one-hour, held by one or more experienced KYDS facilitators. You will receive tips and guidance on how to best manage these areas of your life, and be invited to join the discussion and share what works for you.

What will I get out of it?

By attending these sessions, you will:

·       Learn simple and effective tools to take charge of your well-being

·       Have a confidential space in which to discuss any challenges you are facing

·       Understand stress and anxiety and develop practical ways to manage them

·       Identify and overcome some of the roadblocks to achieving your goals

·       Learn how to create more helpful thinking styles

·       Build better communication skills to improve relationships

·       Develop practical and easy ways to relax and improve sleep

·       Help and learn from others by sharing what works for you

·       Gain valuable knowledge that you can use to improve your life

How will this impact any one-on-one counselling I’m having or waiting for?

This program is not designed to replace any one-on-one counselling. If anything, it is a bonus - an effective way to connect, learn new skills, or work through any challenges you may be facing in addition to any counselling you may be receiving or waiting for. Some people may find that they actually prefer the group sessions and no longer require one-on-one counselling, others may like to attend both, and those on any waiting lists may find this to be a valuable way to take charge of their mental health and well-being in the meantime.
