About Event

This panel will focus on the struggle and transformative role of indigenous women who, from their localities, are leading significant changes for the common well-being. Throughout history, indigenous women have been racialized and forced to adapt to a globalized world, often distancing themselves from their own worldviews. In this panel, we want to give a voice to women who have faced various sociopolitical, economic and cultural realities, and who are now on the front line of the fight against climate change.

The central question that will guide this session is: Where does your fighting essence come from? We believe it is crucial to understand the diverse experiences and challenges that women have faced and how these struggles are passed down from generation to generation.

This event is part of Climate Week in the Borough-Based Liberation Project - full schedule here - https://linktr.ee/climateweek2024
