Let's Play NYC + Make Space = A Day of Play at TAMA Open Streets! Come find us on Tompkins Avenue for hands-on craft making, games and good community fun.
Make Space and Let's Play NYC are partnering together for the first-ever installment of 'Play Space' and what better block to kick this off than Bed-Stuy's own Tompkins Avenue.
From cutting and collaging: You’ll find a range of tactile crafts like leather making, postcard art, and watercolor—all set up outdoors for easy, joyful creativity.
Prefer a bit of movement or friendly competition? Join in for Jenga, hopscotch, a classic game of Uno, or just spontaneous sidewalk play.
Whether you stay a few minutes or a few hours, this is your invitation to pause, connect, and return to the simple magic of making and playing together!
All materials provided and 'Play Space' is open to all curious adults.

☀️ About Make Space: Born from a love for crafts like knitting, crocheting, and bead making, Make Space brings together makers of all kinds to finish their half-baked projects, learn new skills, and create in community. Founded by Urechi Oguguo , an illustrator and designer, who aims to provide a supportive and accessible environment where makers can connect, share their skills, and thrive amidst life's demands, all while embracing the playful essence of creative discovery.
☀️ About Let's Play NYC: Play dates aren't just for kids, and Let's Play NYC is here to remind you! A growing community focused on curating fun, low-pressure experiences for adults to try new hobbies and build genuine connections. To help bridge the adulting "play gap," former D1 gymnast and yoga teacher Sahara Moné founded Let's Play NYC. Inspired by her own search for community and playful movement, this space empowers young adults to rediscover child-like joy and explore movement practices they truly enjoy.
