Your Hosts
Helen J. Doyle, PhD
Helen is a California Naturalist and educator dedicated to the environment, public education, and equity and justice. A biologist by training, she shares her love of nature as a docent and writer. She volunteers with several Bay Area organizations, including Año Nuevo State Park, Gardens of Golden Gate Park, Amah Mutsun Land Trust, and Historic Gardens of Alcatraz. Helen serves on the advisory council of Nature in the City, a San Francisco nonprofit that connects people to nature, and represents Nature in the City on the Reimagining SF Steering Committee and the SF Crosstown Trails Coalition.
Sharmila Singh, MBA
Sharmila is a Career Coach, Sustainability Consultant, Teacher, and Connector who has focused much of her career helping organizations committed to growing their business while implementing regenerative practices. Finding her true calling meant landing on a career that combines business strategy while making an impact in the world. It was this journey that charged a desire to help others discover the career paths that bring them deep joy and fulfillment. Sharmila is the founder of Green Lens Coaching and for the past 6 years has been leading workshops and coaching clients in self-discovery, leadership, and career development for roles in climate and social impacts.

Nature in the City
Details:
The walk from Glen Park to Glen Canyon is about 1.5 miles with 500-foot total elevation gain. The leader will walk back to Glen Park more directly with anyone who wants to join. The terrain will mostly be sidewalks or compacted trails, with some stairs. This route follows a section of the Crosstown Trail.
Preparation:
Wear comfortable walk shoes and layers. Bring water and a snack, and something to share if you want to stick around for a few minutes after the walk.
Meeting Locations:
Meet in the plaza of the Glen Park BART Station at the circular benches.

Transportation and Parking:
This is a transit-centric walk, with an easy starting location at the Glen Park BART Station. There are also several Muni lines that connect back to Glen Park.
Parking near Glen Park: Note the 4-hour limit in most areas.
Weather:
Heavy rain will cancel. We will email participants the morning of walk if we cancel.
Cost: $7 Proceeds go to Nature in the City and the SF Crosstown Trails Coalition.
