About Lisa Matovcik

Lisa Matovcik is a seasoned intellectual property strategist who collaborates with leading biotechnology executives and medical professionals to develop comprehensive global patent strategies. With a deep commitment to fostering open dialogues, she creates approachable environments that pave the way for scientific and business success.

Lisa’s legal career began at Finnegan, where she worked alongside senior partners to manage complex patent portfolios. She later transitioned to Novartis, contributing to high-profile therapeutic innovations before joining GlaxoSmithKline, where she has focused on developing innovative patent opportunities through educational initiatives.

Before entering the legal field, Lisa had a distinguished career in medical research at Yale University. As a tenure-track faculty member, she successfully ran a cell biology research lab while maintaining continuous grant funding, earning recognition for her contributions to the field. Outside of work, she is an accomplished endurance athlete and serves as the Co-Vice Chair of the MAPS Committee for the Women In Bio - Capital Region chapter.
