First time fundraising this year? In this VC 101 workshop, we’ll cover the basics when it comes to fundraising in the life sciences space. You'll gain insights to elevate your fundraising strategy in the life sciences sector with Danielle from Banc of California.

Specifically, you will learn:
- Stages of investment (pre-seed, seed, series A, etc)
-Types of life science investors (angels, VCs, family offices, and others)
- Funding structures (equity vs. convertible debt, vs SAFEs, etc)
- Info on the diligence process and what items investors expect in a data room
- The top 10 mistakes founders make when fundraising
- An overview of the 2024 funding environment

About the Speaker
Danielle Silva is SVP, Life Sciences at Banc of California where she leads the banks’ early-stage life sciences group. She’s additionally on the Executive Board of the Entrepreneur Forum and a strategic advisor for CircNova, a company developing an AI engine to generate circular RNA therapeutics. Previously, she was Director of Life Sciences at First Republic and spent four years at Capital Advisors Group focusing on cash management and debt advisory for life sciences companies. Danielle was also one of the founders of Life Science Nation, a company that helps early-stage life science companies raise equity capital. Danielle began her career at Brighton House Associates where she raised capital for VC funds.
