About Event

We are really excited to invite you to our next in person Deep Learning Computer Vision Practitioners' Evening taking place in Zoopla!

Please sign up as this will be mandatory to attend the event in person. Do cancel if you cannot make it though so we know how many people we need to cater for.

Our confirmed speakers include:

Stephen Law, Lecturer/Director in MSc Social and Geographic Data Science, UCL Geography and Turing Fellow, The Alan Turing Institute
Stephen will introduce the project The Look of London Streets, using urban imagery to estimate housing prices – covering previous research on the use of urban imagery to estimate house prices in London with some recent works on the integration of geographical theory in predictions and generative AI driven explanations for these models.

Polly Hudson, Senior Research Fellow, The Alan Turing Institute and Project Lead of the Colouring Cities Research Programme
Polly will be talking about the range of data they are collecting and collating, and integrating from diverse data capture methods including joint research with IOER Dresden on automated recognition of typologies and building features from images.

Robin Roussel, Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Laboratory for Design and Machine Learning, Royal College of Art
Robin will present the lab's recent work on the large-scale integration of visual and non-visual building-level data to enrich the analysis of the housing stock.

Lucas Kruitwagen, Head of Technology, TransitionZero, a climate-tech not-for-profit
Lucas will be talking about cloud-native geospatial machine learning with climate and satellite data.

Who are we?
We are a group of data scientists, engineers, academics, and practitioners all working on cutting edge applications of computer vision. We like to meet up regularly to discuss what we are working on, complex issues we are all encountering, share solutions, and generally encourage and inspire each other. This is an invite-only community as we strictly want to keep this to practitioners.
