May 8th Legatus - Dr. John Bishop, "God Made Men"

​Dr. John Bishop is a Catholic theologian, speaker, and founder of FORGE, an apostolate dedicated to forming men, strengthening families, and renewing fatherhood in the Church. He began his ministry with FOCUS, where he led and scaled several national initiatives, including co-founding the FOCUS Summer Projects. While serving at FOCUS, he earned his doctorate in theology from the Catholic University of America, writing his dissertation on masculine virtue and the crisis of men and fatherhood in modern culture. His work is deeply inspired by the thought of St. John Paul II.

​In 2023, Dr. Bishop launched FORGE (www.myforge.org), which has quickly grown and was recently named a Top 5 Emerging Catholic Non-Profit by SENT Ventures. As Executive Director, he leads small groups, intergenerational mentorship programs, and curriculum development aimed at supporting men and families. A sought-after speaker, he frequently appears at Catholic events and on podcasts such as Virtuous Leaders and Godsplaining. He lives in Des Moines, Iowa, with his wife, Katelyn, and their three children.
