About Event

A few of us were chatting in the Sphere community about the UK's response to the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, Boris Johnson gave a speech when we crossed the 100,000 deaths milestone saying that we as a country did everything we could.

Do we believe that to be true? Looking back over the last year, how do we think the UK could have responded better and faster? How could we have better prevented loss of life, raised awareness of what was going on and helped people to build the habits we needed to?

What do we think about the responses of other countries, eg China, Taiwan, Australia and the US? What can we learn from them? What does all this mean for building a stronger global community going forward?

We invite everyone to come and share their perspectives and learn from one another. At Sphere, we believe the power to change the world comes from within each of us and that discussions like these give us guidance and fuel for that change.

We facilitate a safe and inclusive environment, so all are welcome. There's no obligation to speak if you'd rather just listen, keep your camera off or engage in the Zoom chat.

Heads-up that we also plan to record the event and leverage quotes from people on social media etc, but we’ll always check with people before sharing specific things they’ve said. If anyone doesn’t want to be recorded, feel free to turn your camera off or email me if you’d like to discuss!

Finally, there's a discussion thread on our forum for the event. Free to start or continue the conversation on there.
