Dancing with Climate Anxiety
Introducing The Climate Party's Premier Online event
Our climate parties across India led us to find out that many of us, who're committed to building climate solutions, experience intense climate anxiety. Some of us seem to be giving up hope on collective change, while working on our individual contexts. Some of us are still battling it out.
How do we really navigate climate anxiety without letting it paralyze action?
How do we rewire our brains to work on our meaningful parts without losing sight of the whole? How do we address some of the deeply personal questions underpinning climate anxiety? These are some of the questions we want to collectively explore.
This is an experiment in sharing feelings in a safe, non-judgemental space, bringing together climate change solutionists and a behavioural scientist to see how best we can navigate the internal pushes, pulls and double-binds of climate anxiety.
Our anchors for this dialogue are Venky, Sameer Shisodia, Raghu Ananthanarayanan and Sayesha Dogra
If you are joining us for this dialogue, here are some of the assumptions we are making:
1) You understand the reality & gravity of climate change; and
2) You understand the problem requires deeper introspection.
We call this "Dancing with climate anxiety" because we feel it's extremely important and we can't just deal with it "seriously". We hope to make it playful and deeply meaningful!
