Mariana Muntean | CEO & Co-Founder of Cinevva

Embarking on the journey to create a groundbreaking game engine presents opportunities and challenges. In this session, we delve into the multifaceted world of VC funding, examining whether venture capital is the right path for your innovative vision or if alternative strategies might better suit your goals. In this talk Mariana will talk through:

  • VC Funding Fundamentals: Is seeking venture capital the best approach for turning your game dream into reality? Discover how VC money stacks up against other funding options.

  • Building Blocks: Learn about the essential components of developing a game engine and the importance of cultivating a supportive community around your product.

  • Future Forward: Understand how current trends on TikTok and AI are influencing the gaming landscape and what it means for the future of game development.

Talk #2:
Video Game Publishing – Is it for you?
Lance James | Co-Founder & Executive Producer of Digital Bandidos

In this talk, we demystify the role of a publisher and explore whether partnering with one is the right move for your game. Join Lance as he covers:

  • Publisher 101: What exactly is a game publisher, and what do they bring to the table?

  • Success Without a Publisher: Explore whether you can achieve success independently and what alternatives exist if you choose to not work with a publisher.

  • The Good and the Bad: Delve into real-world examples and hear about the pros and cons (and sometimes horror stories) of working with publishers, including common pitfalls and success stories.

  • The Future of Publishing: Get insights into the evolving landscape of game publishing and development, and what emerging trends mean for the future.

About: Lance James co-founded Digital Bandidos with a rich background in game publishing and development. From playing Age of Empires 2 competitively to working with developers worldwide, his enthusiasm for games only continues to grow. Having worked on titles such as The Banner Saga, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, Guild of Dungeoneering, Defiance, UnMetal, and many more titles across multiple platforms, his expertise and industry insights learned over the last 15 years are invaluable.

See you all there!
