This initiative is a collaborative effort led by Adeyinka J. Oresanya and a research team from the University of Nebraska & CHAOSS-Africa. The core goal is to explore and understand the positive impact of Generative AI (GAI) tools, specifically GitHub Copilot, on the lives and work of African developers. We're looking at how it can enhance skills, improve employment prospects, foster entrepreneurial activities, and boost open-source contributions across the continent.
The project is supported by GitHub and is being conducted under university-approved Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines, ensuring the rights and well-being of all participants are protected.
