​Chelsea G. Summers is an American writer and former academic renowned for her provocative and genre-defying fiction. With a Ph.D. in eighteenth-century British literature, she transitioned from academia to journalism, contributing essays on sex, politics, fashion, and culture to publications like New York Magazine, Vogue, The New Republic, and The Guardian.

​Summers gained widespread acclaim with her debut novel, A Certain Hunger (2020), a darkly satirical tale narrated by Dorothy Daniels, a food critic who also happens to be a cannibalistic serial killer. The novel has been praised for its sharp wit and feminist themes, drawing comparisons to works by Bret Easton Ellis and Raymond Chandler.

​Summers divides her time between New York and Stockholm, Sweden. Her second novel, An Excellent Host, was published in April 2024 .
