Lawrence Yen focuses on climate-tech and sustainability Innovation VC Investment in Greater China. He is passionate about talking to Environment and Technology Innovators and Social Value Enablers about how to build and scale their businesses through our partners and channel networks. Lawrence received his EMBA from Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto.
Jian Zhang is the Founder and CEO of CFEX, Inc., a provider of cloud-based clean
energy operation and transaction platform to help businesses decarbonize their Scope 2
emissions. CFEX’s technology enables these businesses to streamline and automate
business processes for accounting for Scope 2 emissions, planning mitigation
strategies, and procuring renewable energy to mitigate their Scope 2 emissions. Prior to
founding CFEX, Jian founded and scaled GridX to be the leading provider of customer
operation solutions for the top 10 largest utilities in the US. Jian has more than 20 years
of experience in developing scalable back-office solutions to enable the transformations
of clean energy, utility, telecom, and digital media industries. Jian holds a Ph.D. in
Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Kevin Ku is a software engineering leader with a passion for the intersection of sustainability and technology. Kevin currently works at Watershed, the world’s leading sustainability software platform, where he manages the supply chain team. His team builds solutions that help companies such as General Mills and VMware to measure and reduce scope 3 emissions.
Prior to leading the supply chain team, Kevin was an early engineer at Watershed who built the core infrastructure for carbon accounting. Kevin also worked on extending the Watershed platform to meet the sustainability needs of consumer goods companies such as Everlane and Warby Parker. In his free time, Kevin enjoys being an amateur historian and playing board games.

Tim Liao is an investor at Acorn Pacific Ventures, where he covers early-stage B2B software investments in enterprise, supply chain, construction, and climate tech. Before that, he was the marketing director at a series-C startup and a management consultant.
Tim received his master's degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and his bachelor’s degree from National Chengchi University.
