The Next Generation with Katie Lam MP
Join us for another TNG event on Tuesday, 1st July!
Summer's sunny English weather has us feeling reflective, and appreciative of natural beauty. It reminds us of the wartime poetry of A. E. Houseman (1896), who wrote of the rolling Shropsire Hills:
'That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.'
This time, we're delighted to be talking with Katie Lam MP. She is the Conservative MP for the Weald of Kent and Shadow Minister of State for the Home Office. Classically trained (in Classics, not the thespian vocation), she is also an award-winning lyricist and playwright! Katie is coming to talk about the storied history that England has with liberalism. What can we draw from the past, and what does that tell us about the future?

A bit more about these meetings:
At TNGs, we throw our doors open to Westminster’s finest to enjoy a political discussion over a few glasses of (free) wine. Open to parliamentary staffers, journos, SpAds, consultants, students and even the odd civil servant, TNGs are a place to network, chat, relax and always feature great remarks from our guest speaker. Whatever your politics, we just like interesting ideas and we hope you do too. It’s for under-35s, it’s informal and we normally end up at the Marquis of Granby. If we reach capacity with RSVPs, we will add you to our waiting list and let you know if a place becomes available.
Please note this event is exclusively for under-35s.
