Multiple Signatures
San Huan's Performance
San Huan's residency performance "Multiple Signatures" explores polyrhythmic dub-IDM at 170bpm, morphing sounds from collaborative improvisations of synth, strings, flute, and percussion. Expect everything from ambient to heady club-tinged psychedelia.
Artist: San Huan
San Huan is a Brooklyn-based producer and live performer who shapes electroacoustic experimentation into intimate compositions of dub, IDM, and techno. Their practice unfolds through deliberate physical encounters—naive percussion playing, unstructured synthesizer explorations, collaborative improvisations that capture the presence of human touch within electronic frameworks.
Raw acoustic material emerges through handmade instruments and non-metronomed playing techniques, generating rich gestural fragments that embed unique bodily presence into digital processes. Through continuous reworking, sonic fragments evolve into both familiar and experimental forms—a practice of perpetual becoming where the boundaries between acoustic source and electronic manipulation blur into new mythological languages of sound.
As a recipient of the Andrea Robbins scholarship at the Underground Producers Alliance, they pursued private study of experimental electroacoustic composition influenced by dub, free jazz, and sound art under Raz Mesinai (Badawi), Shahzad Ismaily, and Scotty Hard. Recent performance history includes appearances at Light & Sound Design, Silence Please, The Living Gallery (NYC), Eklektik Elektrik (DC), and 924 Gilman (Berkeley).
