About Event

In honor of National Poetry Month and the one-year anniversary of Living Poetry, please join us for a special conversation with Métis storyteller and poet, Chris La Tray.

Our flow will include:

  • A conversation with Chris La Tray, facilitated by Allie (~25 minutes).

  • Q&A with the audience (~15 minutes).

  • Reflections and wrap-up (~5 minutes).


What is The Living Room?

​The Living Room is a virtual + cozy “third space” for Living Poetry folks. We gather for heartfelt poetry chats on the first Friday of every month.


Featured Poet:

Chris La Tray is a Métis storyteller, a descendent of the Pembina Band of the mighty Red River of the North and an enrolled member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians. He is the author of Becoming Little Shell, One-Sentence Journal: Short Poems and Essays from the World at Large, and Descended from a Travel-Worn Satchel.

He writes the weekly newsletter "An Irritable Métis" and lives near Frenchtown, Montana. He is the Montana Poet Laureate for 2023–2025.
