Three Ways Being Smart can hurt you as a Founder - FSO Speaker Series
About
Figuring Shit Out is proud to launch its inaugural Speaker Series event. Not another panel, fireside chat or Q&A, our speakers have actually sat down & carefully thought about what they want to say. We work with highly experienced technology professionals to deliver a tight 40 minutes of stories that are directly useful to startup founders, built from hard won experience within their area of expertise.
Topic
Being smart undeniably helps founders in numerous ways but there are some traits smart people develop and are rewarded by in society that can hurt them in the founder journey. In this talk, Xianhang Zhang covers his experiences working with smart founders and how three traits in particular crop up over and over again amongst smart founders that can derail a startup:
Overthinking Things
Perfectionism
Preferring Overcomplicated Solutions
He goes into why such traits arise disproportionately amongst smart people and ways to combat these tendencies.
About the Speaker
