About Event

Join us for Power at Work, an interactive session designed to shift the way we think about influence, leadership, and change—especially inside large organisations. This event is for anyone who cares about climate action and wants to make a difference from where they already are.

In this workshop, we’ll explore a simple but powerful idea: you don’t need a sustainability title or executive role to drive meaningful change. Together, we’ll unpack the different forms of power—relational, positional, and collective—and help you recognise where your own influence lies. Through real-world examples and guided exercises, you’ll learn how to move from isolated efforts to coordinated action.

This isn’t a passive webinar. It’s a space to reflect, connect, and build momentum—where you'll leave not just inspired, but equipped.

Participants will walk away with:

  • A new lens on power: what it is, where it lives, and how to work with it

  • A personalised map of where they hold influence within their organisation

  • Tools and language to spark change from within, even without formal authority

  • A sense of community with others pushing for climate action in their workplaces

Our speaker, Maren Costa is a leading advocate for climate justice and workers’ rights, featured in the Netflix documentary Buy Now: The Shopping Conspiracy. She is the U.S. Advisor at WorkForClimate.org, where she helps tech employees push for systemic change. With over two decades of leadership at Adobe, Amazon, and Microsoft, Maren holds 16 patents in human-centred design and sustainability. In 2018, she co-founded Amazon Employees for Climate Justice, driving landmark wins including Amazon’s Climate Pledge and Jeff Bezos’s $10 billion Earth Fund. A recognised speaker, she shares insights on sustainability, design thinking, and collective action as tools for building a just and sustainable future.

This session is organized in partnership with WorkforClimate, a non-profit that helps employees organise internally and advocate for ambitious, accelerated climate action in their companies. Our flagship offering is a 3-month Academy programme that equips employees with the climate knowledge, leadership skills, confidence, and community they need to become powerful change-makers from within.

Whether you're just getting started or already trying to lead change from the middle, this session will help you feel less alone—and more powerful.
