​Tom is a leading technology and innovation policy expert, currently serving as the CEO of Renaissance Philanthropy. His career includes being the Chief Innovation Officer at Schmidt Futures, and Deputy Director of Policy at the White House Office for Science and Technology under Clinton and Obama, where he was instrumental in launching significant initiatives like the National Nanotechnology Initiative and the BRAIN Initiative.

​Matt is the co-founder of Entrepreneur First, Chair of the UK's Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA), and advises the UK government on AI governance and policy, including as the former UK Prime Minister's Representative at the Bletchley Park AI Safety Summit and for this government's AI Opportunities Action Plan.
