​Rappi, founded in 2015 by Simón Borrero, Felipe Villamarin, and Sebastián Mejía, quickly became Colombia's first tech unicorn. Their last significant funding round, $500 million in July 2021, boosted their valuation to $5.25 billion. Rappi's attracted top investors like Sequoia Capital, SoftBank, Andreessen Horowitz and Endeavor Catalyst.

​Starting as an on-demand service for food, groceries, and pharmacy items, Rappi evolved into a comprehensive super-app, now offering e-commerce, financial services, travel, and entertainment. Operating in 9 countries and over 250 cities across Latin America, Rappi connects millions. Beyond its success, the company has fostered regional entrepreneurship, with its founders mentoring new ventures and over 100 former employees launching their own startups.
