gap mapping

​Pick a gap from the Gap Map, research it, and talk about it! What does the problem entail? Why do we care about it? How do we solve it?

​(Essentially a hackathon, but for research)

Example:

​Let's say I'm interested in why we have no good predictors for unstable proteins. Questions I'd want to answer:

• ​What makes AlphaFold so good at predicting static vs. dynamic structure? Are these problems inherent to self-play?

• ​What do we know about the functions intrinsically disordered proteins play, and why do we care about them?

• ​Why is NMR mapping and allosteric regulation prediction related to this problem? Are they essential bottlenecks? Could we get around them?

​Convergent Research has made one of the best high-leverage problem lists in history, and we would be remiss to not pay attention to it.
