Sea Changes
Our actions now affect whether the sea changes for better or worse. Join us for this one-day event that blends adventure, science & storytelling from around the UK coastline.
Last June, 6 women working in the fields of nature, climate & sustainability set off to circumnavigate Great Britain in a rowing boat, aiming to tell the story of our coastal seas through scientific data and testimonies of those working to protect critical ecosystems and build strong, resilient economies around our shores.
In this event during London Climate Action Week, we share what we learned, bringing together the voices of scientists, conservationists, innovators, policy makers and (most importantly) coastal communities whose lives and livelihoods are intimately entwined with the ocean, and who are best placed to design and deliver solutions.
This is a story of hope and potential: what we heard and witnessed shows that - by working together, empowering the right people, and giving nature a chance to regenerate - we have every opportunity to deliver the sea change that’s needed to restore our coastal ecosystems and create a resilient future for our planet.
The event will culminate with the introduction of the Protected Areas Foundation - a new charity dedicated to supporting and scaling community-led management of MPAs, starting in England and Scotland.
